Who do you specialize working with?
I have particular skill in working with intersectionality, family trauma, second generation Asian Americans, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergence, chronic illness and generational trauma. I have been trained to do therapy in Mandarin Chinese and would love to add a bilingual and bicultural perspective to therapy sessions. I approach therapy with authenticity, warmth, and a particular emphasis on the therapeutic relationship.
What type of therapy do I offer?
I work from a narrative and feminist therapy perspective with CBT and IFS techniques. The treatment focuses on changing your story, acceptance, self empowerment, while keeping in mind the inherent structural power imbalance in society. Treatment plans are customized based on individual goals.
Transparency in the therapy space and process is something I strive to achieve. Part of the therapy journey is realizing that our stories are complicated with many tangled parts meaning we need to lead with self compassion.
Is therapy offered in person or online?
I provide telehealth to adults living in California
What should I expect in my first session?
At intake, I start by asking the reason you are seeking therapy; what your personal goals are and what you’re hoping to achieve in session. The information gathering or “intake“ may take 1 to 2 sessions. I will use the information gathered to establish a treatment plan that is tailored to support your unique journey and goals.
The session is also a chance for us to get to know each other, establish frequency of how often we will meet, answer general logistical questions and other odds and ends. I also invite questions you have for me about therapy in general, my style and other concerns you may have.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance, however I can provide a superbills for you to be reimbursed with your insurance.
What does scheduling look like?
The “click here” buttons will take you to an initial booking page with Simple Practice- where you can request a free 15 min consultation. The consultation is a chance for me to gather basic information and see if we are a good fit, after which we can schedule a longer intake session.
Do you use AI?
No.
